The Paris spot you would never put in a guidebook?

I have lived here my whole life and the corner I love most is not on any list: a bench by the Canal Saint-Martin where the light hits the water around 7pm and nobody is in a hurry. What is yours? Doesn't have to be pretty, just true. I am always looking for reasons to walk somewhere new.
